work
1,
For the piece of work I will be making a college magazine front cover and the contents page aimed at a specific target audience created on adobe photoshop with my own images all taken on a camera under my usage and ultimately entise readers to pick one up.
The things i need to include to achieve this are things such as colour codes,
interesting headlines and a possibly innovative masthead.
A very important aspect of this is too make it look as professional and believable using bar codes, logos, acnhorage and competitions.
2,
L- Language
it will need to contain aspects and features such as:
mastheads,
bardcodes,
most importantly a MCU (MID CLOSE UP),
a consistant colour style which is house style containing two or three colours,
as previously said anchorage,
competitions,
a memorable title to entise the reader.
I-
a free college magazine produced solo by myself with support from Wyke college, gap in the market as there isnt one.
I-
The message i want my magazine to send out is that a free magazine can be useful and even something entertaining to pick up and look at and show that an average student can succeed in college life.
A-
My target audience is definitely college students as me being one will help to target them and interest them
R-
I plan for magazine to portray my target audience positively saying they're good student but capable of doing better etc.
So i guess they would be seen as stereotypical students rather than the uncoventionally less seen students

parts of my magazine assignment, will be uploading the rest soon.
3,
Choice of College.
The college I have chosen to base my college magazine on is the college I attend Wyke college.
I decided on this college due to the fact I believe I would find it easier to include features for my contents page with current activities taking place around the college.
5,
Target Audience.
The target audience for my college magazine in the demographics group would fairly obviously be current students or slightly younger and looking into attending the college so my age rating would be between 15-19.
My magazine would also interest both girls and boys due to the similar percentages in quantity of both genders at the college.
Also the Socio-Economic groups I have chosen to base my magazine around and aim at would be (possibly) D but very much so E.
Now for the psychographics part of explaining my reasoning of target audience.
I believe that my magazine would aim more at the more hardworking student who wishes to strive (achievers) but also if a not so positively motivated student was to read it, it would still apply and attempt to urge them to succeed.
So more aimed towards the inner-directed person.
6,
Price.
I would publish my magazine once a fortnight and release it on the Monday morning free of charge.
My reasoning for all three of my previous ideas follow as:
I would make it free of charge to support my chosen socio-economic group (E),
as most students who aren’t earning money or even if they are wont be willing to fork out money to pay for something of which they are used to be given for free and just flicking through and not really caring for.
My explanation for releasing it on a Monday morning would be that my magazine would contain current events and future events for upcoming two weeks, events such as, enrichment times, social events etc.
And finally my reasoning for selling my magazine once every two weeks.
I feel that students would lose interest quickly if it was weekly as it was free they’d simply feel as if we was overloading them with information it’d be more like a bulletins list rather than a magazine in my opinion, mostly just to prevent my readers from straying away from it.
